7/16/17...

Despite the oppressively hot weather and length of the the meet, Renegade swimmers performed extremely well at Cal State Games.  Congrats to all of our swimmers, especially those who made it to the medal podium (for a top 3 finish).  Overall, we placed 5th - quite an accomplishment for only 17 swimmers.

In the evening, we enjoyed watching the Padres's walk-off win over the Giants and the fireworks show after the game.  This was the 2nd year for Swimmers' Night, and it continues to grow - with over 500 attending this year.

7/14/17...

The first dual meet of the Summer League was held over in Solana Beach, and the Renegade swimmers showed up - in numbers and performance!  Thank you to all who participated, and also to the coaches for organizing the event and making it fun for the swimmers (many who competed for the very first time).  Also, thanks to the parents for volunteering - timing, writing ribbons, taking pictures, and assisting where needed.  Meet results can be found on our Team Meet Schedule (tab above), and be sure to check out the photos on our Shutterfly site.

NOTE - This week's meet (against Ramona) will be held at Baker pool, not Ramona HS.  We will warm up at 3:15, and the meet will start at 4:15.  Please be sure to 'RSVP' on our Team Unify site.

5/21/17...

Fantastic job this weekend at the MRA long course meet!  So many new best times, team records, JO and Zones cuts.  Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for timing and officiating.

Reminder:  due to the new heater being installed at Washington Park, all groups will practice this week at the Baker B&G Club pool.  It will be crowded, but we will make it work.

Congrats to all of our high school swimmers (representing Classical Academy, Escondido HS, Escondido Charter, Mission Hills, and San Paqual) who competed in the league championship meets this past week.  And best of luck to those who have qualified for the CIF section meet.

For those attending the Post-CIF senior meet, we will warm up at 9:00.  The meet is scheduled to start at 10:00 and should be finished before 1:00.

4/23/17...

Thank you to everyone who participated in the PS long course meet.  It was long and hot, but RAQ swimmers were impressive!  Congrats to record breakers:  Lulu, Megan, Maya, Isabel, Tiffany, Caden, Dylan, and Casey.  Also to Nolan for earning his first 2 LCJO cuts!  It really was a fantastic weekend of racing: numerous best times and not a single DQ all 3 days (94 swims).

A special thank you goes out to Michael Stephens and Travis Dang for volunteering all weekend (in hot conditions) as officials.  Also, thank you to the parents who served as timers and all who put together the Sunday meal for the swimmers and families.  Mr. Smigal will be talking about this one for a long time.

4/8/17...

Awesome job by our young Renegade swimmers this weekend at the Fallbrook C meet.  There were a LOT of new best times and several swimmers earned B times for their events.  It was great to see some of our newer swimmers competing in meets!

The website has been updated with results, team records, and the spring/summer meet schedule.  Feel free to browse the site for the latest team info...

2/26/17...

Congratulations to all of our JO swimmers who performed so well this weekend.  Caden Dang led the way with 3 first place finishes (and 2nd place in his age group).  Tiffany Shields won the 50 free and had exciting battles in the 100/200 also.  Megan Dang established reinvented herself as a backstroker (to the surprise of coach John) and had a great meet.  Likewise, Savannah Galindo was fantastic as a butterflier, and also multi-finalist.  Our other RAQ swimmers who qualified for finals were Riley Baldwin and Dylan Hayes.  Rounding out our individual qualifiers were Isabel Langat, Lulu Macaulay, Maya Ramirez, and Jake Wos.  And we had our largest contingent of relays ever.  In all, 23 athletes got to participate in the championship meet.

A special thank you goes out to ALL of our parents, athletes, and friends who organized and manned the snack bar and hospitality for the meet!  I am so proud and grateful for your efforts in support of our club, our athletes, and the swimming community.  There were so many compliments - from officials, coaches, and other parents - saying that we run the BEST snack bar in the entire county.  Several coaches from large teams commented that the ONLY way this can be accomplished is when you have a great group of parents willing to put in the work.  I know that it is a tremendous amount of effort, and I am honored to work with parents who represent our program so well!  Thank you again.
